About this letterbox draught excluders & catchers
An internal brush cover is the quickest fix for a letterbox draught, and it is hard to beat for value. It screws to the inside of the door around the letterbox opening, and the brushes close around the post as it passes through. When no post is passing, the brushes close the opening and the air stops moving.
The Stormguard cover is white PVC, with an external size of 335 x 75mm and an aperture of 279 x 45mm. The aperture is the opening that the post passes through, so check that it is a little smaller than your own letterbox opening and that the outer size covers it.
Holes are pre-drilled and fixings are included, so a screwdriver is all you need. It is not a complete replacement for the letterplate itself, but it adds a draught barrier on the inside of the door. If your existing plate is worn and rattles, a new letterplate with an internal flap may be the better route.

Place the cover against the door and check the screw holes fall on solid door material, not on the opening.
