About this under door draught excluders
A sausage dog is a perfect draught excluder shape because it is long and low: a dachshund body is a ready-made tube for filling a door gap. This cream and brown version is made from plush fabric with a weighted filling, and measures around 81cm, so it fits an internal door, a bedroom door or a narrow porch door.
The plush finish makes it soft enough for a child to cuddle, yet it has enough body to do the job. The weight inside keeps it against the bottom of the door, which is what gives it a real seal against moving air. It blocks dust and light as well as draughts, and the cushioned body dampens a little of the noise that sneaks under a door.
This is also an easy gift. Dog lovers, new homeowners and anyone who feels the cold would be glad of it, and it stores neatly by standing against a wall. If you want a longer dog for a wide door, see the 107cm SUPERFA or the 91cm Marwood in the same range.

The complete guide
A sausage dog is the right shape for the job. What matters is length, weight and fabric rather than design.
Look for a weighted filling, a length that covers your door and a cover that is firm enough to hold its shape.
Spot clean with a damp cloth, keep it away from radiators, and keep chewing pets away from the fabric.
